Build a Software License Metering System

Developers typically use QuickLicense to protect and license software they have developed to sell commercially.

QuickLicense also includes a License Meter feature that enables any organization to manage the number of concurrent licenses in use for applications they have purchased. This feature works with applications running on Mac OS X or Windows.

Manage License Compliance

A License Metering System can be setup in minutes for any application without programming. The organization can ensure license compliance for purchased software running within a network or across the Internet. To configure a License Metering System, you will need QuickLicense Standard edition (includes the AddLicense tool) and either QuickLicense Server or Safe Activation to manage the floating licenses.

QuickLicense Server Approach Network Managed Licenses

Use QuickLicense Server to generate the License Server and License Monitor. Run these executables on a computer in the organization's network. Internet access is not required.

Use QuickLicense to configure a floating license and AddLicense to generate a launch application that binds the license to a target application.

Safe Activation Approach Internet Managed Licenses
Use Safe Activation to manage the number of activate floating licenses. Internet access is required from all computers running the managed application license.

Use QuickLicense to configure a floating license and AddLicense to generate a launch application that binds the license to a target application.
